The Broken Inn
About This Spot
Walking into The Broken Inn feels like entering a familiar neighborhood retreat where the pace slows just enough to settle in comfortably. Nestled in Niskayuna, this spot carries a warmth that invites conversation, laughter, and quiet moments alike. The lighting is soft, the booths offer a cozy nook to tuck into, and there’s an easygoing hum of friendly chatter that wraps around the space like a well-worn blanket.
Here, the focus is on simple pleasures—whether you’re sliding into a booth with friends, grabbing a seat at the bar to catch a game, or stopping by for an unhurried bite after a long day. The atmosphere is approachable and unpretentious, the kind of place where staff know you by name and your favorite drink might already be waiting before you ask. It’s the kind of local spot that blends a touch of pub comfort with the care of a cherished family kitchen.
The menu echoes this feeling of honest, satisfying fare. You’ll find classics reimagined with care—a French Dip that beckons with tender layers, sandwiches so generously stacked they invite you to slow down and savor every bite, and warm bowls of French onion soup that comfort as much as fill. Drinks flow with the same spirit of casual enjoyment, from mimosas to clever cocktails and well-chosen beers that invite toasts and easy smiles alike.
Spaces like The Broken Inn have a rare quality—where the everyday turns into a small celebration, and strangers feel more like neighbors. It’s not just about the food, though that’s worth writing home about; it’s about the little human moments that stitch a community closer together. Whether you’re marking a casual night out, following your favorite team, or stopping in on a whim, this is a place that quietly reminds you why local spots hold a special place in our hearts.

First off, this restaurant accepts cash only. Also they use peanut oil to fry. You may want to be informed those things before you walk in and sit down at a table. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The service was good. I got a turkey club sandwich, that was a joke (in a good way ) l had to go slowly so the sandwich won't fall apart. The french fries are just okay. Food was good overall. I'll probably go back.

We got a booth and it felt very warm and cozy. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. For drinks, my wife had the salted caramel coconut cocktail and I had a hazy beer. Very happy with both. My wife got a chicken sandwich and I got the French dip, both came with fries. The food was very tasty and comes in good portions. The staff were all friendly and helpful. You didn't feel like anyone was rushing you. This was our first time, we'll definitely be back.

The Broken Inn is the place to go if you're a Buffalo Bills fan! We went for an afternoon game, making sure to arrive early enough to get a seat at the bar. The bar server, Meghan, greeted us immediately, advising us that they use peanut oil, they are a cash only establishment, and that all draft beers at all 3 of there locations are $5 for the foreseeable future. How can you beat that? The food was top notch, I got the veggie burger with chili fries and used the sweet chili sauce to dip my veggie burger in... Yum. My companion got the wings, I was told they were great and I can attest to the fact there were no leftovers so they must have been good! Total charge for SIX beers, veggie burger and a dozen wings, with tax was about $65. We left full and more than satisfied with the entire experience. Also, the Bills won! Go Bills

We stopped at The Broken Inn on our way home from spending the weekend with friends in Albany and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The atmosphere is inviting, the food was delicious, and it’s family-friendly too. We’ll definitely be back and look forward to bringing friends along next time!

Please get some kind of a German lager on tap! Great place with great atmosphere and friendly staff. A local vibe that you only get in small neighborhood pubs like this. The food is good. I'm not gonna say it's restaurant level but it is a pub, so level your expectations here.. I just wish the beers on tap were a little more broad in the spectrum of what they have to offer.. would love to see a nice Spaten Lager on tap or another type of refreshing lager or pilsner.

I love this place and will return. The food comes out hot and fresh and the young guy that waited on us was very helpful and funny and out food was right as we ordered it. The cook I believe was Kevin made our order perfect.

Pleasant Surprise! Wasn't planning on Happy Hour, but was walking by and decided to stop in. Such a nice place right in the middle of Nisky. Highly recommend! Super clean, Guinness on tap, friendly staff and awesome food.
